Quentin's fear of loneliness, desire for control, and clingy possessiveness walk in the form of the Shepherd, a tall, hound-headed figure that looks at a distance to be made of velvet. Its skin is composed of thousands of woody-brown burrs that breathe and shift as it moves with a bowed back down the corridors. These burrs catch on anything they come in contact with, razor sharp tips shearing through common fabric to burrow into skin. Because of the unique, erratic pattern of the hooks, there's no removing them without mangling a little flesh.

The Shepherd's goal is to bring anyone in an area together. A person can avoid being scruffed and burred if they can figure out which way they're being herded, but if they try to run or misstep, the Shepherd is quick to cut them off physically. An attack (either on the flock or the Shepherd itself) will provoke the use of fat fangs and a bear-trap of a jaw, and god knows what germs are in that spit--never mind the myriad burrs that an attacker will suffer in the course of wrestling this sticky beast.

When the burrs shed, the empty follicles leak blood too, a dangerous amount. The Shepherd will seek to remedy this by trying to rip the burrs back out of their victim with its teeth or hands, clumsily shoving them back in or--if it gets a good mouthful--chewing up a paste of flesh and woody detritus to smear onto the bleeding area. For whatever limited effect this may have, if the shedding is grievous and the bloodless serious, the Shepherd will waste away of bloodloss. It can be killed classically by destroying a critical mass of its body or its head, heart, other important organs, etc. The trouble is, you have to reach it to get it. Who wants that mess?

Love for Q to be handled, I'll retcon/ask for a rewrite if anything goes too far

    Shipping
Love it, open to all genders

    Smut
Love this happening, but fair warning that I'm in my fade-to-black/fastforward era, I like when it happens, but I get bored of the play-by-plays, so I will def ask to take shortcuts to keep things interesting for me!

    Fighting
I'm begging you please fight him

    Injury
Delicious, lets talk extremity, but I don't mind having him limping around for a while

    Preferences

    Threadjacking
    Into it

    Backtagging
I'm a backtagger, but I'm also a thread trimmer, so if something is going on too long or is starting to wind down, I may reach out about finding a way to wrap it. Please feel free to do the same!

    Aversions
Not much in the way of triggers, but I tend to struggle with consistent long tags (over 250-300 words). Mine tend to be on the shorter side, hope there's no offense taken! Receiving extra long tags can slow me down, so thanks for your patience.

    Tagging Style
I love skipping HTML when I can, but I'll match style! As mentioned above, I have a pref for shorter form tags when possible. I try to get off a round of tags every day or so, and I'll slow-boomerang stuff that has high stakes. I tend to be most active during weekdays, as I'm generally not on the computer for weekends.

Q's canons comes with warnings for horror-typical gore and violence, sexual violence, childhood sexual assault, and gaslighting. If you want to avoid tags that include any of that or if you want to opt out of tagging entirely, drop a comment below! Comments are screened.
